Britain has a humid temperate climate. This means that it usually has warm summers and mild winters, and rainfall throughout the year. The climate varies from one region to another.
The climate graph in Figure 2.11 shows the climate for a typical UK location. The blocks represent rainfall in mm and the line represents temperature in degrees celsius.
The map in Figure 2.12 shows the average rainfall for Great Britain. This is a choropleth map. The areas coloured darkest have the most rainfall and those shaded a light colour have least rainfall.
